Some of my commercial and just-for-fun illustrations

Please note what these images are NOT:

They are not photographs which have been cut-copied-and-pasted. They are not semi-automatically made with 3D programs. They are made by a man's mind and hand — for I draw and paint and design the old-fashioned way, but using digital drawing and painting tools.

The fundamental reason I can create such images on a computer is that I can do this without a computer — as I did for many years with brushes and paints, before computers came along.

But I now love creating images with computer software because this lets me attain a level of precision and perfection which simply isn't possible with air-brushes, pens, brushes and messy physical paints. And my fundamental concern has always been with the quality of the product, not the nature of the process — that's just the means to my end (and that's my answer to all those who ask if I miss brushes and paints).

Click the images to see large color versions and read some remarks.
